Regulations of the Researchers' Night of the Silesian University of Technology 2025
General Provisions
§1
- The Researchers' Night of the Silesian University of Technology 2025, hereinafter referred to as the "Event," is a popular science event organized by the Silesian University of Technology, promoting science and its applications in everyday life. The goal of the Event is to encourage people of all ages to continually expand their knowledge, and for children and young people to study exact sciences, natural sciences, engineering and technology, and the humanities, and in the future to conduct scientific research and pursue careers as scientists. Furthermore, the goal set by the Organizer is to promote the Silesian University of Technology as an interdisciplinary institution open to all age groups and to encourage young people to study and work in the field of science.
- The Regulations of the Silesian University of Technology Researchers' Night 2025, hereinafter referred to as the "Regulations," are addressed to all Participants who will be participating in on-site activities during the Event on the campuses of the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice, Katowice, Zabrze, and Rybnik.
- The Regulations define the obligations and rights of Event Participants in order to ensure the broadly understood safety of the Event by defining the rules of conduct for Participants during the Event.
- The Researchers' Night of the Silesian University of Technology 2025 is the twentieth anniversary edition of this event.
- The event will take place on October 11, 2025, on the campuses of the Silesian University of Technology in Gliwice, Katowice, Zabrze, and Rybnik.
- A Participant of the Event is any person staying on the University premises where on-site activities are conducted, hereinafter referred to as the "Participant."
- Entering the Event constitutes acceptance of the provisions of these Regulations.
- Registering for the Event via the registration form, the link to which is available at www.nocnaukowcow.com.pl, constitutes acceptance of these Regulations and the Event Participant Declaration. Failure to read these Regulations does not exempt the Participant from complying with their provisions.
If participating in the Event without first formally registering via the form available at www.nocnaukowcow.com.pl, the Participant is obligated to comply with these Regulations.
- Researchers' Night of the Silesian University of Technology 2025 is organized on behalf of the Silesian University of Technology by the Center for the Popularization of Science, hereinafter referred to as the "Organizer."
Participant Obligations and Rights
§ 2
- Admission to the university campus during the Event is free and is open to all persons, subject to point 10 of this paragraph.
- Minors participate in the Event under the sole responsibility of their parent/legal guardian.
- Event Participants are required to arrive punctually at the venue for the activities specified in the event program, and in the case of activities requiring registration (workshops), 15 minutes before their commencement.
- All Event Participants are required to behave in a manner that does not endanger the safety of others, in particular to comply with occupational health and safety regulations and the provisions of these Regulations.
- Event Participants declare that they are in good health and participate in the activity at their own risk. In the case of a minor participant, the aforementioned declaration must be submitted by their parent/legal guardian.
- Participants are prohibited from bringing into the Event area or possessing any of the following: weapons, ammunition, or other dangerous items, explosives, pyrotechnic products, fire-hazardous materials, alcoholic beverages, narcotics, psychotropic substances, or other similar substances.
- Animals are prohibited from entering the Event area, with the exception of guide dogs and assistance dogs.
- Conducting any commercial, profit-making, promotional, advertising, or political campaigning activities without the organizer's permission is prohibited within the Event area.
- Consumption of alcohol and smoking are strictly prohibited within the Event area.
- Admission to the Event area is prohibited for individuals behaving aggressively, provocatively, or otherwise posing a threat to public safety or order.
- Furthermore, it is prohibited to:
- enter official premises,
- enter prohibited areas, both marked and unmarked, that pose a threat to the health and life of the Participant,
- throw any objects,
- proclaim or display obscene, vulgar, or racist slogans, incite international, religious, or social discord, etc.
- It is prohibited to block or obstruct exits and evacuation routes, access routes for emergency services, or other facilities that are necessary in the event of rescue or firefighting operations during the Event.
- If a fire or other threat to life, health, or property is observed, the Event Participant should: notify the event leader without undue delay, avoid panic, leave the Event premises calmly.
- The Organizer reserves the right to remove any Participant who violates the rules of etiquette and interferes with the proper and safe enjoyment of the Event by others. Participants are obligated to respect public property, greenery, and avoid littering the area.
- In the event of any disputes not covered by these regulations, the organizer or coordinator of the activity will make the decision.
- The Organizer is not responsible for items left or stolen during the Event, nor for accidents resulting from ill health or the Participant's fault.
Participation in the Event
§3
- Each Event Participant is required to register their participation in person or, in the case of participants under 18 years of age, through a parent/legal guardian or guardian of an organized group, and obtain a free Entry Ticket via the website www.nocnaukowcow.com.pl.www.nocnaukowcow.com.pl
- Registration for the Event and obtaining an Entry Ticket are available from October 1st of this year (Wednesday) at 12:00 PM. Instructions for obtaining a Pass are available at www.nocnaukowcow.com.pl.www.nocnaukowcow.com.pl
- If participants do not register in advance and are unable to obtain a free Pass via the website www.nocnaukowcow.com.pl, they are required to register at the information desk located on the Gliwice campus—near the Rector's Office, the Student Activity Center, the Faculty of Civil Engineering, or the Center for New Technologies—or with the support of a volunteer managing the event on the university campuses in Gliwice, Zabrze, Katowice, or Rybnik.
- The Pass is a mandatory form of registration for the Event and is verified electronically or in print by delegated persons from the Organizer before entering the building on the Silesian University of Technology campuses in Gliwice, Katowice, Zabrze, and Rybnik.
- With the Pass, participants may participate in activities that do not require registration (lectures, demonstrations, stands) and those that require additional registration (workshops).
"Compose Your Night" - Workshop Registration
§4
- Workshop activities require registration.
- Registration for the "Compose Your Night" workshop begins on October 1st of this year (Wednesday) at 12:00 PM.
- To register for the workshop, Participants are required to create an account at www.nocnaukowcow.com.pl. Workshop registration instructions are available at www.nocnaukowcow.com.pl.www.nocnaukowcow.com.pl
- Registration for the workshop is mandatory for Participants to register for the workshop and is verified by activity coordinators prior to entry to the workshop at the Silesian University of Technology campuses in Gliwice, Katowice, Zabrze, and Rybnik.
- The Organizer does not accept workshop registrations submitted via email or phone.
- In the event of technical issues with Participant registration, the Organizer reserves the right to cancel the process and re-register.
- In the case referred to in § 4, point 6, the Organizer will notify the Organizer electronically (email, Facebook, website www.nocnaukowcow.com.pl) about the re-registration process.
- If a participant withdraws from the workshop before the event, in order to cancel their registration and allow interested but unregistered participants to participate, this fact must be reported to the Organizer immediately by email to nocnaukowcow@polsl.pl.nocnaukowcow@polsl.pl
Final Provisions
§ 5
- The Organizer reserves the right to determine and change the course of the Event, as well as the right to establish and amend the Event program in terms of content and time, including changing the format or immediately ending the Event in the event of force majeure.
- The Organizer is not liable for the consequences of force majeure. Force majeure is considered an event beyond the Organizer's control that makes the fulfillment of obligations impossible or may be deemed impossible due to the circumstances. Force majeure includes, in particular: weather conditions, failures or disruptions in the operation of electricity supply devices, and pandemics.
- The Organizer reserves the right to use and disseminate the Participant's image free of charge in video materials and photographs taken during the Event for informational and documentary purposes, for itself, its Patrons, Honorary Patrons, Partners, and Sponsors of the Event, to which each Participant consents by participating.
